Frequently Asked Questions

General FAQs

  • In short–the sooner, the better. I typically book out 4-6 weeks in advance so, in order to secure the dates you want for your project, I recommend inquiring ASAP.

  • Payments are broken into two parts. A 50% non-refundable deposit needs to be paid upfront to secure your booking and the 50% remainder that is due when the project is complete.

  • No. All deposits are nonrefundable as it is my way of securing your spot in the queue. I book projects several months ahead of time, and scheduling ensures that I give all of my clients the proper amount of time that a project deserves. As a result, I turn away clients for your reserved time slot. If you back out of the project, you may leave an empty spot that could have been given to another project. The deposits ensure that clients are serious about moving forward with the project.

  • My girl, Taylor Swift. Obviously.

  • You must have all content necessary for the project ready to go by our agreed-upon start date unless discussed prior. Failure to do so could result in rescheduling the project to a later date and/or a restart fee.

  • Yes, absolutely! Feel free to contact me here and we can chat via email or set up a time to talk on the phone.

Branding FAQs

  • Simply put, I am not the designer for you, pal. I firmly believe that branding is a start-to-finish experience that tells a full story. A logo is just one small part of that story and I would be doing you and your business a disservice if I took your money to give you a quick but incomplete solve.

I don’t believe “just a logo” can tell your brand’s full story, or set you up for success for years to come. That’s why I specialize in full brand identity. Yes, it’s one of the biggest investments you’ll make in yourself. But it’s worth it x10 to have your heart, vision, and mission perfectly represented — just ask my clients!

  • Before branding projects can begin, I will need your design questionnaire returned with your business details.

You must have a solid idea of your target audience, business mission, products and services, a general idea of styles you like/appeal to your target audience (or exactly what you dislike), and of course, your business name!

  • - An icon is usually a simple symbol that is immediately recognizable as part of your brand. Essentially, it’s a straightforward and bold representation of your business (think Nike swoosh).

    - A sub mark is a similar but usually simplified variation of the logo, used in situations when the main logo is not the best fit. Its paired-back style makes it easier to use on things like social media, as a sticker or stamp, and any other applications your specific industry might require.

    - An alternate logo is another version of the main logo, with a slight difference - usually either horizontal or centered depending on what the primary is. Just so you have all bases covered!

    - Your branding is never just your logo, it is the total presence that makes up your business (and isn't even entirely visual!). From your logo, website, and color palette, right through to your tone of voice, marketing, messaging, copywriting, and photography.

  • I firmly believe we make the most impact on your business by creating a completely custom brand identity from the ground up. Oftentimes, when past elements are combined with new, you get a pieced-together look, which doesn’t speak to your ideal customers. Give me total creative freedom with your brand, and we’ll create serious magic, together!

  • A mood board includes colors, image inspiration, and brand 'mood', created from a Pinterest board and based on your questionnaire answers. This is a springboard for your project, but please note all images, fonts, colors, textures, etc in the mood board will not be part of your final design, we will build upon this aesthetic and direction to make sure your design is unique and authentic to your business.

  • Because we dive deep into what your business is all about first, I'm able to present one strong concept that is the best fit for your brand. I still come up with and work on dozens of concepts before focusing on the one I'll be presenting to you, which we'll refine for up to 3 rounds if you so desire.

P.S. Most clients only need one round of refinements because it’s that spot-on, thanks to our investment in strategy!

  • Your Brand Guidelines will include your logo variations, color palette, buzzwords, visual inspiration, font selection, hierarchy, logo and file usage as well as using your brand in context. This is useful for you as the owner to utilize your new brand suite, as well as pass on to a future designer/web developer/anyone using your brand.

  • My branding services begin at $2,000. Since each business has unique needs there really isn't a one size fits all price. The price will be determined during the discovery call and details will be sent over in a proposal.

Web Design FAQs

  • I love Squarespace because of its collaborative nature, flexibility, and easy-to-use interface. It’s completely customizable using CSS (see below!), and it gives you the autonomy to make changes easily in the future. While I find that it fits most of my clients’ needs, sometimes another platform is a better fit. If that’s the case, I’ll work with a developer to bring your site to life.

  • Copywriting is not part of my services. You can use my website content guide for some help with writing your copy, or I can refer you to copywriters I trust.
